Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Cosmeston Country Bark! When you make an online booking with us you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our field rules and regulations.

1. Definitions & About Us

  • We / Us / Our: Cosmeston Country Bark (Country Barks Ltd)

  • You/Your: The person or organisation making the booking.

  • Your Dog(s): Any dog attending under your booking.

  • The Field: Cosmeston Country Bark field(s), including associated parking and airlock areas.

2. Bookings, Payments & Capacity

  • Payment: Full payment is required before or at the time of booking to confirm your reservation.

  • Session Duration: Standard sessions last 50 minutes. You must be out of the fields and clear of the private access/airlock area by the end of your time slot.

  • Standard Capacity: Unless pre-agreed otherwise, a maximum of 3 vehicles and 7 dogs are permitted per session.

  • Late Arrivals & Early Entry: If you arrive early, wait in the park's extra parking area and remain in your vehicle or the pedestrian zone if arriving by foot until your booking time starts and the previous user has left.  Late arrivals will still end at the original scheduled time. If you have to get out of your vehicle or are arriving on foot, make sure dogs are kept under control and keep away from the field's perimeter fencing and gates.

3. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds

  • 24+ Hours' Notice: You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your slot.

  • Reschedules: Free of charge.
  • Cancellations: Refunded minus a 50p fee per slot to cover non-refundable payment processor and administrative fees.

  • Less than 24 Hours' Notice: Bookings cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed sessions are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations by Us: If we must cancel your booking due to severe weather, unsafe conditions, or access issues, you will receive a full refund (with no 50p fee deducted) and an alternative booking slot if required.

4. Outdoor Environment & Assumption of Risk

  • Natural Hazards: Our field is a countryside environment with potential uneven ground, mud, holes, long grass, trees, roots, insects, and changing variable weather conditions.

  • Your Responsibility: You use the field at your own risk. Please wear suitable footwear, supervise dogs and children appropriately, and ensure the conditions are suitable for your dog's breed and health.

  • Liability: We take reasonable care to maintain the site, and are not liable for injury, loss, or damage resulting from natural risks, animal behaviour, or failure to follow these terms and conditions.

5. Fencing, Security & Escape Risk

  • Specifications: Enclosure fencing and gates are 1.85 metres high deer stock with buried rabbit skirt.

  • Visual Inspection: You must visually check the field, fencing and gates before releasing your dog off-lead.

  • Suitability: If your dog is known to climb, jump or dig to try and escape, or if the fencing is unsuitable for your dog, you must keep them on-lead.

  • Reporting Damage: If you notice broken fencing or gates, gaps, or open gates, contact us immediately so we can assist.

  • Security Cameras: We record main entrance/exit to the park as advised by VOG in case we get any noise or behaviour complaints.

6. Dog Health & Welfare

  • Illness: Do not bring a dog if they have shown signs of an infectious illness (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy) within the last 48 hours.

  • Vaccinations & Treatments: Dogs should be up to date on vaccinations/titer tests and flea/worm treatments.

  • Supervision: Dogs must never be left unattended in the fields or carparks or in vehicles without proper ventilation/monitoring. Any rough or cruel handling is strictly prohibited.  Equipment is to be used kindly and safely.

  • Accidents: In the event of a serious dog injury, seek veterinary care immediately and notify us as soon as possible. Emergency first aid supplies are kept in the lower field shelters.

7. Site Rules & Etiquette

  • Dog Waste: Pick up after your dog using the bins provided. 

  • Noise & Behaviour: Keep persistent barking to a minimum and please try to recall reactive dogs from the boundary fencing if triggered.   

  • Equipment & Toys: Field agility and enrichment equipment are designed for dogs only. Adults and children must not climb or play on dog equipment. Any broken toy fragments and litter must be removed when leaving.

  • Driving: No vehicles are permitted in the fields unless pre-authorised.  Please drive slowly and carefully especially when exiting the park onto the B4267 which is a 40mph road with cycle/pedestrian pathway.  You are responsible for any damage caused to the fencing or gates as a result of careless driving.

8. BSL & XL Bully Guidelines

Dogs subject to Breed-Specific Legislation (BSL) or exemption rules are welcome, provided full legal compliance is maintained:

  • The dog must be registered/exempted, microchipped, neutered, and covered by valid third-party liability insurance.

  • The legally required handler-to-dog ratios must be followed.

  • Dogs must remain muzzled and on-lead in shared areas. Muzzles/leads may only be removed once securely inside the enclosed fields with the gate locked.

9. Hours of Darkness & Contact

  • Darkness Visits: There is limited field and carpark lighting. If visiting in the dark, bring a suitable torch and illuminated dog collar/harness if necessary.

10. Breaking Rules

  • Enforcement: Failure to follow these rules could result in immediate termination of your session without a refund and refusal of future bookings.
